🇵🇸Running The London Marathon For Palestine 🏃🏽♂️
I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be running the London Marathon in just under four weeks. This isn't just about the race, it's about supporting a cause that's deeply important to me - Palestine.
Despite the challenge of training for just six weeks and observing the fasting period of Ramadan, I'm dedicated to giving it my all. It's a daunting task, but the cause makes it all worthwhile.
I would love your support . The campaign is fully zakat verified, so take advantage of donating in Ramadan with the last 10 nights upon us. Whether it's a small donation or simply sharing this campaign with others, every bit counts! ❤️
Let's unite and make a difference for Palestine!
Building the London design community
We've been hosting in-person design events in London to foster and grow the 'Muslim design community'. We've successfully held two events, a fireside chat and an app critique workshop, both of which were well-attended and received positive feedback.
It was a pleasure to meet diverse designers from the community, with a variety of experience levels. We also saw a lot of interest from software engineers eager to learn more about design.
As the community expands and our outreach increases, we're confident we'll see even more designers attending the events. Our next step is to host one more pilot event to gauge the community's interest.
While the initial events often generate a lot of excitement, hosting one more event will help us assess retention and value. From there, we can start planning the future of this burgeoning community.
Next event of the series (3/3)
Based on the positive response to the practical workshop style and learning how to critique an app, we're planning a whiteboard challenge workshop or portfolio review.
The in-person portfolio review session where attendees could get 15 minutes of one-on-one feedback on their portfolio from a senior designer.
The whiteboard challenge will be a live demonstration of doing the challenge and then having the chance to practise yourself.
